A dock is normally a wood pile and timber structure. Its primary function is to get one out over the water without getting wet. there are a variety of ways in which this can be accomplished and a variety of materials that can be used to complete the job.

At Sea Horse, docks are one of our specialties, we can show you virtually every option available when building a dock from choice materials to choice of framework to choice of hardware and accessories. From an environamental standpoint we recommend pile sleves because the chemicals used to treat the wood are not allowed to leach out into the water. They also add an amazing amount of structural strength to the dock. A piling encased in a PVC sleeve filled with concrete is virtually indestructible, borers cannot eat the wood because they cannot get to it and stroms cannot lift them out of the water because they are just too heavy.

There are a variety of ways in which to "beef up" the framework of a dock, and there are a variety of different deckings that may be used to cover it.
